Free as a bird

On my 4th Month-Day
Free as a bird, it's the next best thing to be. Free as a bird.

Home, home and dry, like a homing bird I'll fly as a bird on wings.

Whatever happened to the lifes that we once knew? Can we really live without each other?

(Anthology I)

I love tummy time!

How about that weather?  I still swear the old saying about weather is right on - especially for those of us living in Maryland (it's called weather because they don't know whether it is going to do this or whether it is going to do that).. Hahaha

Life has been busy in the Rye house.  I have been working a good bit - and it will only get more hectic in April which is National Donate Life Month.  If you haven't registered to be a donor, do so at www.donatelife.net.  Sorry - shameless plug for work :0)

Tim is Tim.  He doesn't change a whole lot from week to week.

On St.Patty's Day!
Then there is Benjamin.  The Bug turned 4 months old last Friday.  I cannot believe how fast time is flying past!  He is quite the happy little guy.  Everyday after work we play with him, getting him to "talk" and have "kicking pants" (if you haven't seen this, you need to!).  He will lay on his back and get his legs going, and going, and going.  Like a crazy man!  He has rolled from his belly to his back at least twice.  And is trying to sit up on his own.  He is absolutely the joy of life.  I smile every time I look at him, think of him, etc.  I think I'm turning into one of those sappy women!

Sitting at the table in my super cool chair from Nana & Pop!
Steve and Bri are officially coming to visit the first weekend in April.  We are so excited to see them before their big move to, as Steve says, the homeland.  Ben will also be going on his first beach trip in April for Easter!  Lots to do!!

It is really hard to believe that it was exactly a year ago that we learned we would be blessed with a bundle of joy.  I will never forget the surprise and joy in Tim's voice when I told him he was going to be a Daddy. And now, watching him as a Daddy has got to be one of the absolute coolest things in the world.  I love my boys!

Love to all,
L&T

Such a happy boy!

A taste of honey

A taste of honey... tasting much sweeter than wine.

I dream of your first kiss, and then, I feel upon my lips again,
A taste of honey... tasting much sweeter than wine.

I will return, yes I will return, I'll come back for the honey and you.

Yours was the kiss that awoke my heart, There lingers still, 'though we're far apart,
That taste of honey... tasting much sweeter than wine.

I will return, yes I will return, I'll come back (he'll come back) for the honey (for the honey) and you.  (Please, Please Me)

Oh BOY!  CORN!!
Since I am going with the Beatles themed posts, I couldn't use Tim's actual song for me -Crazy Love by Van Morrison.  So this is close enough.  I say this because it was this week, 8 years ago that he and I started dating.  AND, it was a year ago this week that we found out we were expecting.  How life has changed in both the last 8 years and in the past single year itself.

I know I have said it many times before, but Tim is my everything.  I can't imagine my life, or life in general without his strong presence.  And I truly believe that what we share together is special and no one has a love like ours.  Which is why it is so wonderful - it's ours.  His & mine alone.

In my train caboose.. If only Daddy could get the train
to work right....
Although I am working like crazy these days - still full time with the organ donation organization PLUS my massage business that is consistently picking up - I can never wait to get home to see my Pete.  If Tim puts him to bed before I get home I have to go in his room and just look at him.  Look at the miracle we made. He is almost 4 months old and I still can't believe that we made such a perfect, innocent, loving, did I say perfect? baby.  Even on the nights when I get to put him down, I still have to watch him sleep before I go to bed.  He is so peaceful when he sleeps.  And now - he is super happy when he wakes in the morning as well.  I think I would be too if I had slept for 12 hours!  A few nights this past week, he decided it would be fun to start talking to the tractor, blue bird & cows on his bumpers at 04:30.  The first night we didn't know what he was doing, then after a few minutes, we heard him start sucking away at his thumb and back to sleep he went.

Today, after his morning nap, I got to watch him roll from his belly to his back for the first time!  Tim missed it, but Tim did get him to laugh out loud for the first time last week!  He is a growing, changing little guy.  It's hard to believe he will be 4 months this coming Friday.  Time certainly does fly when you're having fun.

Love to all,
L&T

Take good care of my baby

Hi!

My tears are falling 'cos you've taken her away.
And though it really hurts me so, there something that I got to say:

Take good care of my baby, please don't ever make her blue.
Just tell her that you love her make sure you're thinking of her
in everything you say and do.

Take good care of my baby, now don't you ever make her cry.
Just let your love surround her, paint rainbows all around her,
don't let her see the cloudy sky. (Bobby Vee Cover)

Well, Ben has been in daycare for 3 weeks now.  Three successful, no tears from momma weeks.  We feel truly blessed to have found a place for him that we not only are comfortable, but are confident that he is enjoying as well.  I have a feeling Miss Darla is going to become a part of the family :).  He comes home pretty pooped at the end of the day, but very happy!

Concentrating hard on my toys!
He is doing well with his reflux.  No signs of any new infections, taking his antibiotics well and is an overall happy camper.  He is having a daddy day today, which is good to know that I am not the only person to rock his world!  They are currently snuggled up in the La-a-boy watching stupid horror movies.. I hope he doesn't get a complex!

Sleepy from daycare

We are excited for Steve & Bri's visit before their big move to Germany!  They are planning to come the first weekend in April. Stay tuned for dinner plans for Steve's 25th/Good Bye!

Love,
L&T

With a Little Help from my Friends

What would you think if I sang out of tune, Would you stand up and walk out on me.
Lend me your ears and I'll sing you a song, And I'll try not to sing out of key.
Oh I get by with a little help from my friends, Mmm,I get high with a little help from my friends,
Mmm, I'm gonna try with a little help from my friends....

Do you need anybody?  I just need someone to love.
Could it be anybody?  I want somebody to love

Oh, I get by with a little help from my friends, Mmm, gonna try with a little help from my friends
Ooh, I get high with a little help from my friends Yes I get by with a little help from my friends,
with a little help from my friends (Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band)

I know the theme of most of my posts thus far have been related to my Boys and family.  So I thought I would dedicate this one to my incredible friends.  The people who love and accept me, each of us, by choice and not because they have an obligation due to genetics.

My (our - mine & Tim's) friends come from many different phases from our lives.  We have our individual friends - the ones that would choose sides if sides were to ever be chosen.  We have our "couple" friends.  We have "kid" and "non-kid" friends.  We both have "best" friends (and although Tim is top in this category, there are some others that come a close second).  We have what I like to refer to as "old" friends - not due to age, but the amount of time we have been acquainted.  "Professional" and "party" friends.

And I would be amiss to not mention our Greek friends - or more accurately Brothers & Sisters.  Yes, this is a shout out to the Lambda Chi guys & Sig Kap gals.  A special bond that will never be broken no matter how many miles, months and even years may separate our encounters.

We are blessed to have so many incredible people who care about us and have become an extension of our family.  Many of whom Ben will probably refer to as Aunt & Uncle one day.

So - I give you all a special shout out and want you to know how much I appreciate your love, support, laughter, memories and the fact that you have chosen me to be a part of your life.

And - to give a shameless (kinda) plug to one of my inspirations, check out Meghan's post on a FREE photo session give-away. :)  http://meghanboyerphotography.com/blog/?p=975
