Here Comes the Sun

All I want to do is crawl!

You know you want to smile too!
Here comes the sun, here comes the sun, and I say it's all right

Little darling, it's been a long cold lonely winter
Little darling, it feels like years since it's been here
Here comes the sun, here comes the sun
and I say it's all right
Little darling, the smiles returning to the faces
Little darling, it seems like years since it's been here
Here comes the sun, here comes the sun
and I say it's all right
Sun, sun, sun, here it comes...

Sun, sun, sun, here it comes...
Sun, sun, sun, here it comes...
Sun, sun, sun, here it comes...
Sun, sun, sun, here it comes...
Little darling, I feel that ice is slowly melting
Little darling, it seems like years since it's been clear
Here comes the sun, here comes the sun,
and I say it's all right
It's all right (Abbey Road)

Watching the surfers!!
I thought this would be a perfect introduction to Spring, which is quickly turning into Summer!  The sun and warmth yesterday were glorious and well enjoyed by all in the Rye house!  Ben loves spending time outside, whether it is just for a walk, laying on a blanket in the yard or sitting on momma's lap and watching cars go by before bedtime.  Fresh air = happy Benjamin.

I'm just Ducky
Then again, most things make Ben happy.  He is such a pleasure to spend time with - and I can not believe how fast time is slipping past us!  So hard to believe just 6 short months ago Tim and I had only been parents for less than 24 hours.  Now, it seems like old hat!  For those of you who get to spend time with you, you will likely agree when I say that Ben is an "easy" baby.  He is happy-go-lucky, a great eater (no shocker there), a great sleeper and absolutely adorable with those melt you baby blues.

Ben is now eating baby food along with oatmeal or rice cereal.  Thus far we believe peaches are his favorite.  His kidney is doing well.  We had blood work completed last week, and have not heard from the doctor, so no news is good news, right?  He was such a trooper - had to get stuck in both arms - poor Buddy.  I gave him a huge hug after and he gave the lab tech a huge grin and melted her heart (the little flirt).
Mmm.. Juice!
I think he wanted my burger...

Doesn't this smile melt your heart?
He loves to watch people.  Anyone.  And he will flirt with anyone too, but he really turns on the charm for the ladies.  It truly is hysterical to watch.  It is almost as if he knows that by smiling, he can make someone's day just a little bit brighter.
Ben is also now a Roly-Poly monkey-man.  He is all over the place, trying so incredibly hard to crawl.  I think it will start any day now.  Which is a good thing and a bad thing.  We're excited to see his growth and changes, but are scared (and not yet prepared) for his mobility!  Guess we need to invest in some more baby gates, door locks, cabinet locks, etc?

With my dada on the beach
Tim and I are great as well.  Tim recently bought a new (used) Gravely tractor (his new obsession/hobby).  He "had" to go pick it up over Mother's Day weekend.  Oh, the best part - it was located just north of Tampa.. Yup - 14 hours each way.  He left on Friday evening around 7pm and got back home on Sunday afternoon at 1.  Pretty good if you ask me.  Ben and I missed him, but we survived and Tim is thrilled with his new toy.

Almost forgot!  Ben had his first trip to the beach over Easter break!  I think he would have enjoyed it even more had he not gotten a bout of viral gastroenteritis.  But again, he was a trooper and a charmer!

Sitting up!

Steve and Bri are doing well in Germany.  Last time we spoke, their belongings still hadn't made it over to them, but soon enough I hope.  There is talk of Steve being deployed again, but no details as of yet.  Oh, and did I mention I am going to be an Aunt in November??!!  Bri has posted on Facebook they are expecting, so I feel it is free reign to post in my blog :)

We hope all are well.  Thanks for stopping in to see how life is treating us down home.  Take care!
Lots of love,
